SHEET METAL APPRENTICE - Multiple locations

Description

The Aircraft Sheet Metal Apprentice will work closely with a highly skilled Sheet Metal technician on aircraft structures. The job duties consist of using hand tools to remove screws on access panels of the aircraft, performing limited aircraft sheet metal repairs, removing corrosion, and working with different sheet metal applications.
As may apply to any work assignment, will complete additional jobs as directed by management, and will work according to Company policy and/or regulations.

Responsibilities:
As a Sheet Metal Apprentice, you will be required to:

  • Must be able to perform the following functions in variable weather conditions as well as environment conditions, i.e. jet engine fumes, chemical emissions, dust and jet engine noise and work from heights.
  • Lifts objects weighing up to 50lbs; reach, bend, and twist in confined spaces.
  • Cognitive skills to check condition, clean, sort, count, salvage and/or store equipment, and assemble kits.
  • Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.

Requirements

Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

  • Operate scissor lifts and ladders and scaffolding
  • Ability to judge distances.
  • Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally Lifts objects weighing up to 50lbs; reach, bend, and twist in confined spaces. Position requires frequent walking, standing and/or climbing.
  • Work Environment: Aircraft maintenance in a hangar and ramp environment.
